Jonathan Wright

It doesn’t get any better than this! Well, actually it does—when I get to heaven, of course. However, while still down here on earth, I find it an inexpressible privilege to recognize the talents the Lord has granted me and to see Him put them to use for His glory and honor.

I’ve worked for Christian Editing and Design since August 2016 as a copy editor and proofreader. As a retired English teacher, I find it second nature to take copy and conform it to standard usage and proper style. With almost thirty years’ experience editing for newspapers and various publishers, I’m grateful that the Lord has granted me a very fulfilling “second career” as I help writers polish their creations to make them their very best.

My degrees are in English, Spanish, and education, earned from Southern Nazarene University and the University of North Georgia. After teaching in Florida and Georgia, I moved back to my native West Virginia many years ago to teach in this state and also in neighboring Virginia before retiring in 2019. I also serve as a tour guide at the former congressional bunker at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, and work in numerous roles at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene here in my hometown of Lewisburg, West Virginia. My two adult sons are a great blessing to me, and one of our favorite activities is eating out together.

A favorite scripture of mine is the powerful proclamation of Ephesians 3:20—“Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes” (TLB).
